Blogging Bonanza Members Only Area
Nothing fancy here, folks, just the "meat and potatoes". I'll be adding to this area
often, as I find out about new directories, ideas, articles and resources.

If you're looking for ideas on how to structure a blog, and what to put in it, check out one
or more of my blogs and notice how I've "monetized" them with Ads and affiliate links:

Basic Resources
Need software, a host, or a place to publicize your blog or RSS Feed?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Advanced RSS Resource
I can't say enough about Rok Hrastnik's Unleashing the Marketing and Publishing Power of RSS.
It's available as a featured item at my ebook store at Blogging-Guides.Com.
This guy seems to know everything there is about RSS, writes with exceptional clarity, operates a killer website and blog devoted to the subject, and was already working on an update to his ebook only one month after it was first published. I read the first edition, and couldn't imagine a more encyclopedic reference on the subject. Many people are calling this the definitive RSS reference.
My ebook and this member's site teach you enough to grasp the basics of RSS and get up and
running and using it successfully. If you want to exploit its full marketing potential, and stay on the cutting edge, seriously consider investing in Rok's absolutely outstanding ebook. You won't regret it.

Learn How to Write
Don't know how to write? Want to learn more about writing for the net? Here are my top
choices for learning this invaluable skill ...
- Amazing Ad Copy
is from Marlon Sanders. Marlon is legendary for his persuasive writing skills,
and his overall marketing genius. If you want to learn how to write, and how to sell, study Marlon!
The guy has twenty years of sales experience ...
- Make Your Content PreSell!
is a new, very inexpensive ebook from Ken Evoy. Ken puts out some of the very best
and least expensive material on internet marketing and in particular the art of "pre-selling". He
argues that your job as an affiliate is to "warm up" the customers, rather than to "sell" to them.
That is also exactly how you should be approaching the use of your blogs and RSS feeds for internet
marketing.
- The Net Writing Masters Course
is a free download from Ken Evoy.
The ideas are similar to those in MYCPS above, which expands greatly on this free volume. Hey, it's
free, you might as well grab it!
- Turn Words Into Traffic
Jim Edwards is a prolific writer, and a professional journalist. He advocates writing articles and posting them around
the net as a simple and effective method of getting traffic to your website. Lots of "big name" marketers agree with him.
In this ebook, Jim shows you step by step how to write articles, even if you think you can't do it. The very same skills will
help you write killer blog entries. After all, they really are just short articles ...

Monetizing Your Blog or RSS Feed
If you're interested in monetizing your blog, here are several good resources. In
each case, you can put the ads on the sidebar of your blog. Some blogging sites and
software will let you incorporate the ads into the body of the blog, but some won't, because
most of them use javascript, which may or may not work in the body of your blog. I'm not
sure why that is, but that's been my experience.
- Affiliate Power Ads
work like Adsense, except the ads are product images, rather than text. Check out any of my
blogs above to see how these ads look. This is my favorite monetization
vehicle at the moment.
- BlogAds are similar to AdSense,
but from an independent vendor. Gaining popularity quickly.
- Google AdSense is the original. Lots of people use them, because they claim to
tailor the ads to the content of your page very effectively.
- RSS Ads is a new service designed to insert text
ads into RSS feeds. Works like BlogAds and AdSense do within a blog.
If you're using Blogger.com, you can insert the html for the ads by editting your template.
Most of the templates are written with comment tags that tell you where to insert the HTML to
add content to the sidebar. Use "edit template" and scroll nearly to the bottom of the file to
find the code for the sidebar. I'm not familiar with the other online blog hosts, but I presume
the routine is very similar. If you're using standalone blogging software, the instructions should
clearly tell you how to insert code for the sidebars. I've seen it in both WordPress and pMachine.
You'll notice also that I make reference to various products and services in my blogs, but not
so much so as to make the entries appear to be blatant "sales pitches". Of course, many, if
not most of the links in the blogs are affiliate links.
You need to focus on offering legitimate content in your blog. Establish yourself as
credible and people will end up clicking on your ads and affiliate links.
REMEMBER: People buy from internet vendors whom they perceive to be credible, and
whom they like. The more your readers feel that they "know" you, the more likely they are to take
your advice and suggestions, and to click through your links.
Focus on establishing your credibility!

Make Money from Blogs Without Having Your Own Blog
Instant Guru is a
novel idea from master marketer Alan Says. You sign up as a free affiliate, link to his blog from yours, and
have a chance to make residual income from the links in his blog. Check this out - all it requires is that
you post a small banner or text link on your blog and/or website. It's viral, too!
